King Foundation CEO to Be Dream 365 Speaker

COLUMBUS, MISS. (December 3, 2012)—Harry Johnson, President and CEO of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Foundation, will be the keynote speaker at the Dream 365 – Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative breakfast celebration on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Columbus, Mississippi as the closeout event for the week long celebration.

The event, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Trotter Convention Center, will recognize student essay contest and creative arts winners, community unsung heroes and Oasis of Freedom and Justice Award recipients, followed by Harry Johnson’s community address. The cost of the breakfast event is $15.00 and is open to the public to attend.

Harry Johnson led the fundraising efforts to build the memorial of the slain preacher and civil right icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Johnson’s speech will address the passion, challenges, and journey of building the dream (memorial).

Dream 365 is a community volunteer committee responsible for hosting events during the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrations and awarding scholarships to deserving students in the Columbus, Mississippi area. Dream 365 is named among the Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Events. 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and the “I have a dream speech.”
