Kossuth Woman Fatally Injured from Gunshot

KOSSUTH, Miss. (WCBI) – The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death that occurred over the weekend.

Nova J. Crum, 41, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest on Friday.

She was shot by a .4570 rifle while attempting to enter her husband’s truck. Her husband was moving the rifle from the floor of the truck when it discharged striking Crum in the chest.

Her body has been sent to Jackson for an official autopsy.

The incident is still under investigation.
