Friday: We’ll enjoy a mix of sun & clouds with continued heat and increasing humidity. Mid 90s look likely during the afternoon hours but 80s should be the norm as high school football gets underway. The humidity will make it feel like 100+ during the peak heating hours of the day. It will be the hottest day of the week so far.
Friday Night: Another clear and starry night is on tap. Plan on lows in the low 70s with light wind.
Labor Day Weekend: An isolated storm is possible on Saturday and a few more showers & storms may develop on Sunday. Labor Day still appears to offer the best chance of showers and storms due to a cold front that will be sliding across the region. Expect the 90s to continue during the day while low 70s will be the norm at night. Some of the model runs that we look at suggest that the first half of of Labor Day looks wet as the cold front travels across northeast MS and west Alabama. We’ll continue to tweak the timing as we get a little closer.
Next Week: High pressure is expected to return and that should spell a stretch of sunny and warm weather with lower humidity. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s with overnight lows in the 60s.
