Lee County Authorities Arrest 2 in Connection with Home Burlgaries

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) — On Nov. 5, two individuals were arrested on suspicion of home burglaries.

The individuals were suspected in numerous home burglaries and thefts occurring in the Lee County area over a month period of time. During the investigations, numerous pieces of evidence were recovered that ultimately resulted in charges being filed against two suspects at this time.

34-year-old Jerry Smithey, of Plantersville, was charged with four counts of burglary of a dwelling, one count of auto burglary, one count of grand larceny and one count of possession of burglary tools. 19-year-old Abigail Kimbrell, of Plantersville, was charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling and one count of possession of stolen property.

Other additional charges will be presented at the next Lee County Grand Jury.
