TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A Tupelo based magazine has awarded seven companies for their efforts to promote diversity.
The event started at the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau with a reception for Wesley Wells, publisher of Our Mississippi.
It was followed with an awards celebration at the Bancorp South Conference Center.
Wells says the seven corporations were evaluated on several criteria.
“Two of the main things were the suppliers that they use and also the hiring practices and then also their contributions to the community,” he said. “So the seven companies we chose are great companies and there are plenty more out there so we’ll be working toward that in the future also.”
The seven companies are AT&T, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Caterpillar Inc, Entergy, Kimberly-Clark, Nissan North America, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi Inc.
