LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County teacher and her students are celebrating several accomplishments at Monday night’s school board meeting.

It’s because of the Read 180 program, which increases reading levels for students.

On Monday, several of them received reading achievement certificates because they had the most improved test scores in the state last year.

Liza Miley is in charge of the program, and was also recognized.

Miley says she’s seen a lot of students succeed in the program.
