Long-Time Lowndes Co. Civic Leader Dies

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lowndes County is mourning the loss of another long-time civic leader.
John Laws died Sunday night at his home. He was 83.
Laws was a retired pharmacist from Columbus Air Force Base whose family operated a downtown drug store for many years.
He also was a noted hunter and outdoorsman who touched the lives of hundreds of young people as a founder of the Tombigbee Stump Jumpers, a well known skiing and river recreation group.
Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
