Video: Lowndes, Columbus Authorities Net 12 Drug Arrests Since Jan. 16

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) — Since Friday, Columbus police and Lowndes County narcotics agents have arrested 12 individuals on drug-related charges.

On January 16, 2015, Columbus Patrol Officers stopped a vehicle on 17th Street North in Columbus. As a result of the traffic stop, 27-yar-old Stacey Hilario, of Columbus, was found to be in Possession of a Felony amount of Cocaine.

On January 16, 2015, Columbus PD Narcotics Unit charged 32-year-old Haley Pridmore, of Steens, with Prescription Fraud. Pridmore allegedly altered a valid prescription to get more pills than the original prescription called for.

On January 16, 2015, a Columbus Patrol Officer made a traffic stop of a vehicle on Hwy 12 in the City of Columbus. As a result of the traffic stop, 35-year-old Joseph Koger Jr., 33-year-old Tabitha Hines and 36-year-old Jasmine House were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

On Friday January 16, 2015 Agents of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit made a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive South close to Main Street. After a brief investigation a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an undetermined amount of crack cocaine and marijuana. The driver, Michael David Patterson, 26, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with possession of cocaine (felony) and possession of marijuana (misd.) Patterson was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he awaiting bond.

Also on Friday January 16, 2015 Agents of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics unit executed a search warrant at the address of 325 Warren Street. This search warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in the Columbus, Lowndes County area. A search of this residence resulted in the seizure of marijuana and illegal prescription medications. Tymechie Senquis Hairston, 25, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance (felony) with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana (misd.). Megan Leigh Ray, 22, of Columbus was also placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance (felony) with intent to distribute and possession of Marijuana (Misd.) Both Hairston and Ray were transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center and are awaiting bond.

On the early morning of Sunday January 18, 2015 a Deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s department conducted a traffic stop on Hubbard Drive near the intersection of Gunshoot Road. A brief roadside investigation resulted in the seizure of Lortab pills that were found in the driver’s possession. A further investigation and search of the vehicle lead to the seizure of an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit were notified and took over the investigation. The driver, David Dewayne Wooten, 39, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance (misd.) and possession of methamphetamine (felony). Wooten was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he is awaiting bond.

On Monday January 19, 2015 at approximately 02:45 am a Deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department came in contact with two subjects in Yorkville Apartments on Yorkville Road. After a brief investigation the Deputies attempted to arrest one of the subjects who resisted and fought the deputies. Deputies were able to place the subject in custody and found he had cocaine on his person. After further investigation more cocaine as well as marijuana was found in the subject’s vehicle. Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit were contacted and took over the investigation. Carlos Marquez Smith, 32, of Columbus was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center and charged with possession of cocaine (felony), possession of marijuana (misd.), resisting arrest, and public intoxication. Smith is currently awaiting bond.

On the early morning of Tuesday January 20, 2015 a Deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a suspicious vehicle in the area of the Holland Trailer Park near Highway 373. After an investigation and consensual search the driver was found to have marijuana, a set of digital scales, and a syringe on his person. A further investigation and search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more syringes that contained methamphetamine. Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit were contacted and took over the investigation. Mark Anthony McCorkle, 35, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine (felony) and possession of marijuana (misd.). Also arrested was Taylor Nicole Watkins, 20, of Columbus who was charged with possession of methamphetamine (felony) and possession of marijuana (misd.). Both McCorkle and Watkins were transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where they are awaiting bond.
