Lowndes County Drug Busts

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Three people are in jail after several drug busts.

Last Thursday (11-8) the Columbus and Lowndes County Metro Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 45 North in Columbus and reportedly recovered crystal methamphetamine and various paraphernalia.

35 year old Eric Tate was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

On that same day the unit also made two arrests in an ongoing investigation involving the illegal sale of pseudoephedrine in Lowndes County.

According to authorities the investigation led the unit to the arrests of 32 year old Darron Griffin and 29 year old Dedria Smith, both of Northport, Alabama.

Both Smith and Griffin have been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The Narcotics Unit seized of 100 dosage units of pseudoephedrine.

Tate and Griffin’s bond is set for later.Smith’s bond has been set at $10,000 dollars.
