Lowndes County Man Sentenced to 19 Years on Sex-Related Charges

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes County man will spend 19 years in federal prison following his guilty plea to three sex-related charges.

31-year-old Kevin Ross Smith was handed the 19-year sentence after pleading guilty to federal charges of enticement of a minor to engage in sex.

Smith was arranging meetings with underage girls over the internet.

Lowndes County deputies arrested him last October when he arrived at a New Hope grocery store to meet a 13-year-old girl he had met through social media.
