Lowndes Seeks New E-911 Director

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lowndes County is looking for a new 9-1-1 director.

Director Melanie McCoy is stepping down today after nine months on the job. She is returning to being a dispatcher, the job she held for 18 years before being named director last December when Sheri Fancher retired.

Fancher is returning as interim director while the Lowndes County E-9-1 Board searches for a permanent replacement.

McCoy cited personal and health reasons for stepping down.
