Video: MUW Helps Salvation Army

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Salvation Army gets a helping hand from Mississippi University for Women.

Collecting toys and gifts for children is a long tradition at the school.

The need is greater than ever this year, so the staff went the extra mile.

They turned all the goodies over to the Salvation Army at a luncheon on campus today.

Director of Community Living, Sirena Cantrell, was named Staff Member of the Year.

Sirena said, ” I am excited that I have done enough to be recognized for this award. I have gotten involved with with the state associations for housing and my heart is here with my students and (I) hope to stay here for a long time. ”

Employees who’ve reached 5, 10 and 20 years with the school were also honored.
