TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Funding public schools, increasing teacher salaries, constructing a charter school law and maintaining the stability of the retirement system. That’s what the Mississippi Association of School Superintendents say they will ask the legislature to do in 2013. Around 100 attended a grassroots meeting at the Link Centre Monday (9-17) night. Coffeeville Superintendent Eddie Anderson told the group that teachers haven’t received a raise since 2007 and it’s time to do better by our educators. A similar meeting will be held Tuesday ( 9-18) at six o’clock at Oxford High School.
