Macon Hosts Bid Sale for WWII-era Machine Gun

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — The City of Macon is getting rid of a World War II era machine gun.

The H&R Model 50 has been part of the Macon Police Department arsenal for years.

It’s been housed in a vault in Macon City Hall for so long, no one knows its exact origins.

The Macon Board of Alderman declared the weapon as surplus property, and hosted a bid sale.

Starkville-based Security Solutions and Communications was the highest bidder. They’ll get the gun for $7,500.
