Macon Man Charged in Christmas Day Shooting

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — Macon police have made an arrest in a Dec. 25 shooting which resulted in one injury.

Police say they have arrested 23-year-old William Hill the next day in connection with the incident.

Police were dispatched 1:40 a.m. Dec. 25 to Sanco Food Mart in reference to a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual, whose name has not been released, had been shot.

The victim reportedly received treatment at Baptist Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hill was charged with aggravated assault, and is currently detained at the Noxubee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police say more arrests are expected.
