Video: Macon Police Chief to Retire

MACON, Miss. (WCBI)-Macon police chief, Petey Freshour has announced his retirement. Last week he said he wanted to spend more time with his family which was a major factor in his choice to retire. Freshour who replaced Robert Brown as Chief in 2005, had a 33-year law enforcement career 25 of those years with the City of Macon. Freshour also served a term as Noxubee County corner and southern district constable. Although no official decision has been made the city officials will recommend appointing Assistant Chief Lucious Mason to serve as acting chief until after next year elections.
