COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man who police say fired shots into the air and then fled is arrested on marijuana charges.

Police say 22-year-old Robert Beck is charged with possession of more than an ounce of marijuana following Monday night’s incident in the 700 block of Beech Street in East Columbus.

After the shots were fired, the victim gave police a description of the suspect vehicle. An officer stopped the vehicle nearby. Police say Beck claimed the marijuana, which was packaged in small plastic bags, and small-caliber handgun found in the vehicle.
