COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A citizen helped track him and his alleged partner down after a Columbus armed robbery. Now he’s going to prison.

Terry Walker, 38, of Aberdeen, pleaded guilty today in Lowndes County Circuit Court to the Oct. 11, 2011 armed robbery of Creekstone Chevron on Highway 45 North. Judge Lee Howard sentenced him to 20 years with five suspended, leaving 15 years to serve.

He also must pay a $1,000 fine. The sentence will run consecutive to a two-year burglary sentence he’s serving from Monroe County. He was out of prison on parole on that sentence when he was arrested on the robbery charge.

Walker admitted to entering the store, buying a small item and then pulling a gun and demanding money from store clerk Montaser Amro. He fled with $225 from the cash register and jumped into a car allegedly driven by Larrie Bell of Aberdeen.

Another customer followed them and helped investigators catch them in Monroe County. A handgun and the money were recovered in the car.

The charges still are pending against Bell.
