WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — A West Point man receives 15 years in prison for armed robbery.
Frederick Gandy, 46, pleaded guilty to armed robbery Wednesday in Clay County Circuit Court. He originally had been charged with aggravated assault as well but that charge was retired in exchange for his guilty plea.
Gandy admitted entering B-Quick market in July 2011 and threatening to stab the cashier if she didn’t hand over the money from the cash register.
Gandy admitted to stabbing the cashier several times after they were unable to open the register.
Gandy was sentenced to 25 years with 10 years suspended. He also must serve five years post release supervision.
He also was fined $2,400 and ordered to pay $315 in restitution.
