OXFORD — Lafayette County authorities say a Taylor man has been indicted in the death of his cousin.

Authorities tell the Oxford Eagle that 43-year-old George Serrico Williams was indicted on a charge of culpable negligence manslaughter.

Authorities say the body of 27-year-old Jeffrey O’Neal Booker was found Aug. 10 lying on a county road.

Prosecutors say blood tests show Williams was under the influence of alcohol when 27-year-old Jeffrey O’Neal Booker was hit while walking down a county road in the Taylor community about 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2012.

Booker, Williams’ cousin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
