Video: Man Pleads Guilty to Aunt’s Death

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The nephew of a Monroe County homicide victim admits to depraved heart murder.

48-year-old Maben man Tony William Davis pleaded guilty this morning in Monroe County Circuit Court to the Feb. 19., 2002 death of Judith Jones. She was found dead in her Athens Quincy Road home. She died from blunt force trauma.

Davis originally was charged with capital murder when he was indicted in Oct. 2009.

Davis will serve 25 years for the crime consecutively with nine years in prison for an aggravated assault charge in Oktibbeha County.
