Man Pleads Guilty to Tornado Fraud Charges

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) — A Texas man pleads guilty to federal fraud charges in connection with the April 2011 tornadoes that devastated Chickasaw County.

James W. Pulliam, of Homestead, Texas, admitted he filed claims for federal assistance for property on County Road 406 near Houston, Miss., as his primary residence when it wasn’t. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

He’ll be sentenced once a presentence report is completed. He remains free on bond.
