West Point, MS, Monday, April 15, 2013, 2013: Shortly after 9:00pm Saturday night Police were dispatched to a resident on Brame Avenue in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival police discovered Mr. Homer Green suffering from a stab wound.

Police were able to get a statement from the victim before he was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point where he was treated and released for a single stab wound to the back. The victim reported that there was a brief altercation before the stabbing occurred. The suspect had already fled the scene be the time police arrived.

The incident is still under investigation but Police are looking for 32 year old Waco Campbell. His last known address was 395 Wyman Drive, West Point. It is not known if Campbell is still in the area but he is being sought and charges are pending for Aggravated Assault.

According to Chief Brinkley, “We can’t know the mindset of a person who is evading arrest after fleeing from the scene of a violent crime. Therefore we have no choice but to consider this individual armed and dangerous.”

The police department is seeking the communities help in locating Campbell and a reward of up to $1,000 is available through the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.
