Man Wanted in Alabama Caught in Corinth

CORINTH (AP) — Corinth police have arrested an Alabama man wanted on an attempted murder warrant.

Police Officer Spence Spencer tells The Daily Corinthian that 39-year-old Timothy Dennis Blasingame of Hillsboro, Ala., was arrested Saturday at a hotel.

Spencer says police had been tipped that Blasingame was visiting family in Corinth.

Spencer says Blasingame waived extradition and was picked up by Alabama authorities.

A warrant issued June 18, 2013, by authorities in Lawrence County, Ala., alleges Blasingame attempted to run over a sheriff’s deputy with his truck while fleeing a scene. Another warrant alleges he attempted to strike another deputy with his truck.

Spencer says upon going to the hotel room, officers found Blasingame’s wife, mother-in-law and a young child. Officers arrested Blasingame when he returned after getting food.
