MBN Director Hired to Head Federal Task Force

JACKSON, Miss. – (PRESS RELEASE) Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Marshall Fisher is leaving his state position to become the director of the Mississippi High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) task force. The HIDTA program, created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, provides assistance to federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States.

Marshall L. Fisher has served as director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics since June 2005. He retired from the Drug Enforcement Administration where he was assigned as Agent in Charge of Mississippi DEA operations. Fisher is a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of the University of Memphis. His last day of state service is January 31st.
