MCSD Investigation Leads to Arrest of Smithville Man
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Smithville man is behind bars on a drug possession charge and illicit firearm possession charge.
Sometime Nov. 15, according to a press release provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, 53-year-old Smithville man Benjie Edwards was arrested in connection with an “ongoing investigation.”
Edwards was arrested at a dwelling located on Four Mile Road.
Per the release, Edwards was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Edwards is currently detained at the Monroe County Detention Center; his bond has not been set.
