MDOC Working Inmate Charged with Contraband

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Mississippi Department of Corrections working inmate has been charged with introduction of contraband into the jail.

According to a press release provided by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department, 22-year-old Batesville man George Todd Jr. was found to be in possession of a controlled substance in the Prentiss County Work Center.

The substance in question was unknown at the time of this post.

Todd was “immediately removed from the work center,” per the release, and transferred Monday back to the MDOC.

The introduction of contraband into a detention center is a felony charge.

Todd’s bond was set at $5,000.
