EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) – The Eupora community is still paying homage to one it’s own, fallen police officer, Keith Crenshaw. Crenshaw was killed in the line of duty October 23rd after bank robbery suspects attempted to escape police.  Colton Crenshaw, Officer Crenshaw’s son, rode bikes with his father and was on hand at the fundraiser.

“It’s an amazing thing when friends can come together and just ride. Friends and strangers alike just come together and ride with us. My daddy would’ve loved it,” says  Crenshaw.

Keith Crenshaw was an avid motorcycle rider when he wasn’t serving the Eupora community. Crenshaw was killed in the line of duty after bank robbery suspects tried to escape. Local bike riders, family and friends gathered for a ride to raise money for the Crenshaw family.

“Keith was a real good friend of mine and he loved to ride bikes as much as I did. So we decided, me and my wife, to put this together today on real short notice. But it was more or less for the family, to raise money for the family,” says Joe Richards, who organized the ride.

Eupora Mayor Dan Burchfield spoke to the riders and thanked them for their support.

“You don’t realize, in our little community, what something like this means to everyone here in town and to the family also.

The bikers took a 60-mile route that Crenshaw loved to ride starting in Eupora, stopping in French Camp and ending in Ackerman. Officer Crenshaw’s son Colton, lead the ride and rode his father’s bike in his honor.

Donations and a raffle brought in over $500 for the Crenshaw family. Richards says they’ll host the ride each year to honor Officer Crenshaw.
