Belden, Mississippi (WCBI) – The V.A. teams up to talk with veterans and their families about benefits.

A town hall meeting with the Memphis VA Medical Center was at Itawamba Community College-Belden campus Monday afternoon.

A large crowd was on hand to hear about the healthcare available to vets and hear concerns about the treatment provided.

“(We’re here to talk) With the veteran population that we serve and to at the same time to solicit from them any ideas that they have for improvement or any observations that they have that, that they can share with us. To help us to improve our services,” explained Memphis V.A. Medical Center’s Chief of Business Office David Hultman.

“Veterans are not getting the attention, as quick as we need it. A lot of us are dying, and we are dying before we get anything from the VA,” said attendee and veteran James Martin.

Jackson VA Regional Office employees were also there to answer questions.
