Mennonite Volunteers Build Camp Site While Working in Winston County

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mennonite Disaster Service in Winston County is here for the long haul. MDS has committed to serve the tornado damaged area for the next two years. Mennonite and Amish volunteers from Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio arrived in Louisville soon after the storm. They’ve completed thousands of hours of clean-up, removed debris from private properties and made repairs for homeowners without sufficient insurance. MDS is currently constructing a camp site for volunteers. About 30 volunteers will be in the area on a weekly basis. Projects will include roof and damage repair.
