Miss. State Gears Up for Mid-South Forestry Equpment Show

MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State University’s College of Forest Resources is preparing for their biennial forestry event.

The Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show will be held Sept. 19-20 at the John W. Starr Memorial Forest off of Highway 25 south of Starkville. Friday’s events will be from 8a.m. to 4p.m. and Saturday’s will be from 8a.m. to 3p.m.

The show will display the latest technology and machinery advancements in the forestry industry.

This year is the 30-year anniversary of the event, which is the longest-running live, in-wood forestry equipment domonstration in the South.

The show will play host to around 80 exhibitors, including Caterpillar, Jonh Deer and Tigercat. A children’s area will be set up with games for them to participate in.

Bobby Goodson, from Discovery Channel’s “Swamp Loggers”, will also be at the show.

Admission of $20 is required; however, spouses and children will be admitted for free if escorted by a paid attendee.

The event is also hosted by Hatton-Brown Publishers Inc., the Mississippi Loggers Association and the Mississipi Forestry Association.
