Mississippi Hall of Fame Inducts New Members

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame inducts new members this weekend in Jackson. Six men are honored Friday and Saturday.

Bill Buckner, a Starkville native, was a two-time All-American quarterback at Delta State. He also played one season at MSU.

Jimmie Giles played tight end for Alcorn State before a 13-year NFL career that included four Pro Bowl appearances.

Gerald Glass was a basketball player at Delta State and Ole Miss and played in the NBA.

Doc Harrington was an athletic trainer and tennis coach at Southern Miss.

Langston Rogers, a Calhoun City native, spent more than 45 years as the sports information director for Delta State and Ole Miss.

Michael Rubenstein, a Booneville native, was a popular television anchor at WLBT in Jackson and one of the founders of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
