Monday & Tuesday: The chance of rain will lower but we can’t completely rule out a few afternoon showers and storms. The chance of rain is low at 20% and the odds will be highest across our southern and eastern counties. Afternoon highs will be around 90 while overnight lows will be in the low 70s. When we factor in the humidity, it will feel more like the mid 90s.
A Flood Warning is in effect for the Buttahatchie River today and tomorrow. Forecast crests today is 12.4′. Maximum crests is forecast at 14.2 on Tuesday. Flood Stage is 13.0′. Minor flooding is expected.
Wednesday: Warm & humid conditions will remain in place so a few more showers and storms are possible. The chance of rain is 30%. We’ll top out in the low 90s.
Thursday: A cold front is expected to slide in from the Plains. It will likely spark more widespread showers and storms so we’ve bumped up the chance of rain to 40%.
Friday & Next Weekend: Slightly cooler and drier air may make a return behind the cold front if our computer models are correct. That would mean partly cloudy skies along with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. We’ll see how it shakes out later this week.
