Aberdeen, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County man is in jail, accused of beating another man to death.

Christopher Lee Thompson, 46, of Amory is charged with murder. He hasn’t made a court appearance. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says Thompson does have a criminal record but couldn’t elaborate on the crime.

The body of Tommy Harlow, 50, was found Sunday morning at his sister’s Church Road home in Hamilton.

Investigators believe he was killed sometime early Sunday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the men knew each other through a relationship with a woman, but it’s unclear what lead to the disagreement that took Harlow’s life.

“We don’t know exactly the motive. We understand that they were arguing and this led from an argument, and actually Mr. Thompson beat Mr. Harlow to death,” said Cantrell.

Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley says an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday morning to determine an exact cause of death.
