MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County man is barricaded in his house, threatening local law officers and neighbors.

The house at the corner of Highway 6 and New Road is surrounded by sheriff’s deputies and members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol Swat team.

The stand-off began about 1:30 Wednesday afternoon when Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies made an undercover drug buy from a woman.

Investigators arrested the woman, who then led them to a house she said belonged to her drug supplier.

That man is believed to be 53 year old Steve Alton Bradley, originally from Texas.

Officers asked for Bradley’s consent to search the house.

It was then that Bradley threatened officers. He barricaded himself in the house, told investigators that he was in possession of multiple weapons and was prepared to use them on law enforcement.

There is believed to be a second man inside the house. But law officers are not calling this a hostage situation.
