MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — If you’ve got an old misdemeanor warrant, have overdue child support, or are late on a circuit court fine, a Monroe County sheriff’s deputy may be looking for you.

Since the beginning of January, deputies have served more than 50 thousand dollars in old warrants and fines.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the warrants will continue to be a priority as the department tries to clear old files. Anyone who has an old case or fine in Monroe County should call the sheriff’s department to make payment arrangements and avoid being arrested.
