STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a special moment for children at McKee Park in Starkville as they got the chance to play some new musical instruments.

The open celebration held by the Pilot Club Music Trail included an educational puppet show teaching kids to wear their seat belts and stay safe.
The club was looking for a signature project for the park and decided that this one had a great service to the community.
A total of six new instruments such as xylophones and are specifically accessible for children with disabilities.

“It’s a fantastic thing, research shows that music activities help brain development and help people to have better intellect and so we’re really excited that we can offer this to the community so that children can come and play,” said Ellen Boles, Chairman of the Pilot Club Music Trail.

The new instruments are kept outside in the park and are made to withstand all weather conditions.
