More Rain Expected Monday

Our Alfa Insurance Skycams in Starkville and Columbus have both recorded over 3.00 inches of rain thus far today. As a matter of fact, our Columbus skycam hasn’t recorded over 3.00 inches of rain since September 2011! A surface low is to blame for the heavy rain today. This system will continue to move northeast into Alabama and Georgia through Tuesday.

More rain is expected throughout the day Monday with cloudy skies & temperatures in the low 70s. Some showers could produce locally heavy rainfall between 1-2 inches. This means 48 hour rainfall totals could top 4.00 inches in some locations!

Rain chances decrease by Tuesday. We’ll stay dry for the remainder of the work week. Our next rain chance isn’t until the weekend.  Temperatures will stay seasonable and pleasant this week as well.
