*Columbus senior pitcher Hunter Mullis threw a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the Falcons’ 13-0 victory over Starkville.

*Columbus senior Chris McCullough was big time at the plate tonight, going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s in the Falcons’ region victory over the Yellow Jackets.

*Tupelo’s Michael Ray was inches away from rounding off an inside the park GRAND SLAM. His effort helped the Golden Wave defeat Hernando, 6-4.

*Smithville freshman Angel Guyton hit for the cycle in the Lady Noles’ victory over Vardaman. Guyton also hit the walk-off double to win it for the Seminoles.

*Amory catcher Bailey Boyd has a cannon: she caught a Lady Trojan runner stealing second by a good 4 feet in tonight’s game at New Hope.

*Baldwyn senior Tyler Hathcock blazed around the bases on a 2-run inside the park homer. The Bearcats used that play to defeat Mantachie 5-1.
