MSU Celebrates Arbor Day

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – From the air that we breathe, to the beauty we see, trees play a vital role on the Mississippi State University campus.

The Society of American Foresters celebrated Arbor Day at MSU.

The Oktibbeha County Co-Op provided a Willow tree that will stand proudly near the Bost Extension Center.

The school is working to become “Tree Campus USA” certified.

That program recognizes excellence in tree care and management at institutions of higher learning.

Arbor Day is celebrated in February in Mississippi, because it’s the best time to plant a tree.

Up North, Arbor Day is celebrated later.
