NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader to Race at The MAG This Weekend

ATLANTA, Ga. (WCBI/USCS) –  NASCAR veteran driver, frequent TV motorsports commentator and legendary dirt track racer, Ken Schrader will compete in the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified portion of the USCS “Fast and Furious Friday” event on the famed “Black Ice” racing surface at Magnolia Motor Speedway a.k.a. “The MAG” on FRIDAY, MAY 30th.

Schrader has won twice in K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified competition during four 2014 events he has competed in. Those events included a win in the USCS “Frostbuster 250″ season opener at Magnolia Motor Speedway when he bested a talented field of 40 top Modified drivers from six states.

Additionally prior to the Memorial Day weekend when he had other prior commitments, Schrader was the USCS Modified series points leader. He will be going for three wins in a row at the MAG on Friday as he also won the series season opener at the track in March of 2012 and is undefeated at Magnolia Motor Speedway in USCS competition.

Schrader will be at the wheel of his Federated Auto Parts sponsored #9 open wheel modified racer at the track known as “The MAG” racing against some of the best open wheel modified racers in the South, all trying to be first to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane.

Schrader has 970 starts in NASCAR’s top three divisions including 763 Sprint Cup and formerly Winston Cup division semi-retired from the Sprint Cup Series at the end of 2013, but will race selected ARCA events and concentrate on his dirt track racing.

The USCS “Fast and Furious Friday” SPECIAL event features all three of the Atlanta, Georgia based United Speed Contest (USCS) divisions including the 130 mile per hour USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters , the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modifieds and the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints.

In addition to the three USCS divisions the Friday night racing format also includes a full program of racing in the www.rockauto.com Super Late Models, the Nesmith Dirt Late Models, the popular Nesmith Street Stocks and Mini Stock divisions.

Pit Gates open at 3:00pm on Friday with spectator grandstand gates opening at 5:00pm. Racing action kicks off at 7:30pm.
