Nationwide Food Drive

UNDATED, Miss. (WCBI)-It’s time to stamp out hunger. Nearly 50 million Americans, including 17 million children, do not get enough to eat on a daily basis. The National Association of Letter Carriers is asking for the public’s help. On Saturday, May 11th, you leave a bag of non-perishable goods such as canned vegetables, rice, pasta, soups, and cereals by your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up. Approximately 10,000 cities and towns will participate in the nationwide program. Last year more than 70-million pounds of food was collected. Check with your local post office to see if they are participating.
