Neighbor of Business Key in 2 Lowndes County Burglary Arrests

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — An alert neighbor helped Lowndes County investigators nab two suspected thieves.

Investigators say 18-year-old Cory Smith and 22-year-old Quinton Hill are charged with breaking into a business on Highway 373 near Columbus Air Force Base Wednesday morning. A neighbor spotted a strange car at the business, called deputies and the owner, and then went to investigate.

When confronted, the two teens unloaded the items they’d stolen and then fled.

The neighbor recognized one of them, giving sheriff’s detectives the information they needed to make arrests.
