New Charges for Captured Escapees

ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Sirdon Capanion Greer, 28, and Garnett Denzell Hughes, 25,  have both been charged with felony jail escape and assault on a correctional officer.

Hughs, of Belzoni, was found six hours after eluding guards while Greer was apprehended about 15 minutes after the jail break.

Greer was in jail charged on two counts of first degree murder and one count of arson after allegedly killing James and Jerry Copeland and setting fire to their residence.

Hughes was incarcerated after being charged with rape.
