New Drug Court

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Fifth Circuit Court District is the last of Mississippi’s 22 circuit court districts to authorize a drug court initiative.

The Fifth Circuit Court District is made up of Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Grenada, Montgomery, Webster and Winston counties. Court operations will be held in Kosciusko.

Drug Courts are used to rehabilitate drug offenders through treatment, supervision, random drug testing and multiple court appearances. The programs helps to keep offenders out of jail and employed if they stay drug free.

Close to 3,400 people are enrolled in drug courts across the state.
