New Principals Named in Tupelo Public School District

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Tupelo Public School District’s board approved the hire of two new elementary school principals on Tuesday.

Amy Barnett and Art Dobbs were hired from outside the school district as the new Rankin Elementary School principal and Pierce Street Elementary School principal.

Their hiring comes from Travis Beard retiring from Milam and the resignation of Kenneth Goralczyk. The current Rankin Elementary principal Paul Moton will transfer to Milam.

Other changes in the school district include Adam Lindsey and Melissa Thomas moving to Tupelo High School to be the new assistant principals.

It was announced Tuesday night that Milam Elementary Assistant Principal Niki Peel will be the new instructional technology coordinator for the district while L.V. McNeal will be the new assistant principal at Milam.

Tracey Taylor was also named as the new assistant principal at Peirce Street Elementary and will also serve as the district’s art integration coordinator.

All of these announcements we approved and released at Tuesday night’s district school board meeting.
