Jennifer Ortega is a fresh face for the news industry starting her on air career as a reporter at Hola Tv in March of 2011. As a young girl she saw acting as her calling but it wasn’t long before that short lived dream turned into a professional pursuit of reporting.

While completing her Bachelors in Communications from Florida Atlantic University she interned at multiple news stations including CBS 12 and NBC 6 Miami. Shortly after she started working for her community newspaper, The Boca Raton Tribune, where she was chosen to write the weekly weather column publishing over a dozen articles. But seeing her work in the paper wasn’t enough, she knew being on screen is what she desired.

It wasn’t long before she received her first on air job with Hola Tv reporting and anchoring the weather segment in Spanish. Within a short time frame, she interviewed community figures including the Mayor of West Palm Beach, top Meteorologists at the National Hurricane Center in Miami, and Supreme Court Justice Jorge Labarga of the State of Florida.

After Hola Tv, Jennifer got the opportunity to work with her hometown news station CBS 12 in West Palm Beach as weekend editor and photographer. As much as she enjoys South Florida, she felt it was time to get back in front of the camera and currently reports for WCBI TV in Columbus Mississippi
