Paulo Salazar

Paulo Salazar comes to Northeast Mississippi from Texas; born in Corpus Christi and raised in San Antonio.

After attending San Antonio College, and working in the family’s satellite business, Paulo decided to exchange his Longhorns for the more familiar Cowbell. He earned his degree in Communications at Mississippi State and joined the WCBI team after working for the MSU Television Center for two years. Paulo enjoys reporting and hopes, one day, to anchor, like his favorite, the “Today Show’s” Matt Lauer.

Although moving to Starkville from a Texas-sized city such as San Antonio was an adjustment, Paulo enjoys all this area has to offer, including the hunting, hospitality and humidity. Even though he still supports his hometown Spurs and the nearby Dallas Cowboys, Paulo says there’s nothing like tailgating at an SEC event and supporting his MSU Bulldogs.

Other than sports, Paulo enjoys grilling out, traveling, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

Paulo thought he might return to Texas after graduation; however, he fell in love with Starkville.
