No Arrests, Suspects Yet in Water Valley Fatal Shooting

WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WCBI) — Water Valley police continue their hunt for leads in a Sunday morning shooting which left one dead.

Water Valley Police Department officers responded to a call at about 2:48 a.m. Sunday at the Water Valley Housing Authority regarding suspicious activity.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 26-year-old Keith Murray Jr. in the backyard of his apartment on Charlie Harris Street.

Murray was pronounced dead at the scene by Yalobusha County Coroner Robbie Stark, who cited a gunshot wound to the chest as the cause of death.

Authorities say the shooting was the product of a possible altercation between Murray and another individual.

Water Valley Police Chief Mike King today said no arrests have been made, and that authorities are still attempting to pull together a suspect pool.
