No Tickets Issued Since Winona Imposes Curfew

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — Winona police haven’t written any tickets since the city’s new curfew went into effect.

But city leaders say it’s an effective tool as fall weekends turn busy with activities.

The law requires teens 17 and under to be off the streets by 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Exceptions include going to and from work, attending adult-supervised group activities or being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Violations carry a $100 fine and 10 hours of community service work.
